Design
Design a logo / emblem that will epitomize the spirit and the excitement of the world cup here in Africa. The emblem should carry the energy and uniqueness of Africa but also showcase the first world professionalism that we can offer. Although Africa is an important flavour, you must include the FIFA emblem, soccer and the tournament. See the previous logos to see some examples.

For example, the 2006 logo for Germany focussed on the fun and excitement of the tournament, instead of Germany itself. It was important that Germany was seen as a fun and exciting destination and break the stereotype of being precise, strict and so serious.

And in the same way, the African flavour is important - but we still need to convey the first world transport and accommodation, security, safety and the natural magical experience only Africa can offer.

Reproduction / Merchandising
Remember the logo should also be very easy to reproduce for branding and merchandising. Your logo should be able to be reproduced reliably at small sizes and in single and/or simplified colours. For example you logo may be silkscreened or embroidered onto a cap or swing tag. Remember to give careful consideration to colour gradients and font sizes.

Your logo should be instantly recognisable!!!

Balance and Form
A logo / emblem of this type would be best suited to a centre weighted design that can float and stand alone easily. This would make it easier to access and use for signage and branding. A design that is heavily right or left weighted would limit the use.

Brand extensions
You can design extensions of how you see your logo working. Show how it can be used on a cap or t-shirt for example - but when you submit - please make sure that the first image submitted is just the logo.
